On 20th November we had an unannounced inspection from OFSTED. The visit was triggered following two complaints made by parents. OFSTED decided that as the complaints were made within a few days of each other, and that we were due a full inspection imminently that they would carry out the unusual step of an unannounced full inspection.
One complaint was about our boiler breaking down and the risks associated with using portable heaters. On the visit the boiler had already been replaced.
The second complaint was about a member of staff who made an error reporting an accident and the same child was given the wrong dose of an eye-wash due to a medicine form being read incorrectly.
We have taken these complaints very seriously and changed our procedures to prevent any recurrence.
Given these circumstances we are very pleased to announce that the result of the inspection was:
In both the complaints we were totally satisfied that the parents had just cause to complain to OFSTED, and we felt that the inspection and result was very fair, and that the report reflects our business accurately. We would always encourage parents to raise a complaint with staff or a Director in the first instance - either in person or with the form below. However there may be circumstances when a parent feels that their grievance is so serious that they need to go to OFSTED. Their details are also below.
