The Extended School Day is a 7.5 hour session which allows parents to use 15 and 30 hours of funding by choosing 2 or 4 days per week.

We offer a limited number of term-time only (38 weeks per year) places across the nursery which are charged at the above daily rates plus a holiday retainer of 10%. You can spread the cost of childcare across the year, paying the same amount every month. You can choose to take between 0 and 14 weeks of holiday, the retainer is then adjusted accordingly.

We can accomodate additional sessions, subject to availability. If they are booked with a week or more of notice, we do not charge an arrangement fee; however shorter notice bookings will be charged at £1.50 administration charge plus the session charge as above.

*the 22.5 hours per week minimum booking (equivalent to 3 x Extended School Days, 5 x Morning or Afternoon sessions or 3 x Full Days - or any combination that totals 22.5 hours per week or more) applies to new bookings only.

15 & 30 hours per week of free childcare

30 hours of free childcare is now available for the working parents of 3 & 4 year olds, and 15 hours is available for the working parents of 2 year olds. Children become eligible on the term following their birthday, so a child turning 3 in April 2024 would be eligible in September 2024. Both parents living at home need to earn at least the equivalent of 16 hours per week at the National Minimum Wage (i.e. if the Minimum Wage for your age was £10.00 per hour you would need to earn £160 per week, but if you earnt £20 per hour you would need to work for 8 hours per week) and neither parent can earn £100,000 per year. Lone parents need to earn between the minimum per week and £100,000 per year.

You can check your availability at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

The legislation limits funded sessions to 10 hours per day and our session timings allow parents to use a combination of 10 hour days, 5 hour sessions (8:00am to 1:00pm and 1:00pm to 6:00pm) and 7.5 hour days (8:30am to 4:00pm) plus paid sessions if required. We can only offer bookings that total 22.5 hours per week or more. Meals and snacks are charged during funded sessions - see above.

Spread the cost of holiday care

The 3 and 4-year-old scheme from government covers 38 weeks out of 52, which leaves 14 weeks to cover. Many working parents are entitled to less holiday than this which means you may want to book sessions during holidays. Red Wellies would like to offer you the option of paying a fixed monthly fee which pays for holidays. Our holiday year runs from September 1st to August 31st.

It's best to come in and have a meeting with us where we can explain exactly how it works. Essentially, we will take your weekly childcare schedule and spread the costs over 12 months. So for example if you are eligible for 30 hours and book your child at Red Wellies for 8:30am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday (see table – last row), your weekly cost during term time would be £81.92 (£8.74 x 4 plus £46.96) per week, as the government are subsidising 30 hours per week. During holiday time the cost rises to £234.80 per week (£46.96 x 5). Red Wellies can help spread this cost and give you a fixed monthly amount which is payable with childcare vouchers or Tax Free Childcare. You can choose the number of holiday weeks you wish to finance from 1 to 14.

Our accounting systems allow you to exit the scheme at any time and we will repay any monies accrued. We will just need one term’s notice as per the Cheshire East policy for Free Educational Entitlement (exceptional circumstances are allowed at the discretion of Cheshire East, where a fee may be payable due to holidays used).
